Mitchell Field served as the host of the 2nd SASN World Cup of Softball. This event was brought to you by the South Asian Sports Network and the Asian Advisory Agency of Nassau County. The event brought together members from various countries:

The event started with the opening match of Bangladesh against China. The teams played against each other do determine their rankings. Once the rankings were determined we went into the playoffs.

Going into the playoffs the #1 seed was Phillippines who had surprised the observers. They vastly improved over 2017. The second seed Pakistan and the third seed was the West Indies who were one of the surprises of the tournament.
The final 4 were

- USA
- Afghanistan
- Italy
The finals were Afghanistan vs USA and the skies opened up and thunder started. The tournament was stopped with Afghanistan winning 4-1 – in the 3rd inning. The tournament ended in a tie.
